MY RUGS
My rugs are woven of hand-dyed wool on a warp of natural linen. They are intended for the floor, and are very hard wearing when used on the floor.
However, many of my customers prefer to hang them on the wall, so I can mount them for wall hanging, either vertically or horizontally.
A word about color--I'm a much better weaver than photographer. Also, by the time I photograph a rug and send the digital image to you to display on your
computer monitor, there's always some color change. If you have color questions about an individual rug, I'll be glad to answer them as best I can, and
sometimes I can send you some snips of yarn that will show true colors. It goes without saying that if you order a rug from a picture and don't like the
colors when the rug arrives, you can return it.
COMMISSIONS
There are several ways to own one of my handwoven rugs. You can purchase an existing rug from the pictures on these pages. Prices vary, depending on the
size and complexity of the piece. You can get a price on an individual rug by calling or e-mailing me. Also I'm starting to get some of the rugs listed on my
online store at EPOriginals.etsy.com. and will get more listed there in the coming months. For custom work, you can choose a design from the portfolio, and
I will weave it for you in the colors and size you choose. Often customers provide me with a paint chip or a piece of fabric that serves as a basis for my
color choices. Finally, I can create an entirely new design for you. I have one limit--for the designs you see in galleries 1-3, the maximum width is 42" as
that's the width of my loom. For wider rugs, I weave a rug in panels, which I then join together When doing that, I prefer that the rug be designed with
multiple panels in mind ( a few examples of my multi-panel rugs are shown below). Custom rugs generally require 4 to 5 weeks to complete.

PUBLIC ART
I also wanted to let you know about
another area of art that I've
become involved in. At the left is
my first installation of public art,
for the state of Florida, under
their Art in Public Places program.
After a competition among artists,
I was chosen to provide a pair of
wall pieces for a new international
student center at the University of
West Florida, in Pensacola. I was
really pleased, both to receive the
commission, and with the way the
display turned out. I'm hoping to
do more of this type of work in the
future.
